Frequently asked questions.

Q: What services do you offer?

A: At Backyard Bliss, we specialize in backyard and micro weddings with packages designed for different levels of support. Our options range from Wildflower (Essentials) for DIY couples who just need a little guidance, to Willow (Signature) for hands-on planning help, to Evergreen (Luxe) for couples who want every detail managed from start to finish.

Q: Where do you plan weddings?

A: Backyard Bliss Weddings is proudly based in New York’s beautiful Hudson Valley — and we absolutely love celebrating local love stories. That said, we’re always open to traveling for the right fit! If you connect with our style and vision, let’s chat about bringing Backyard Bliss wherever your celebration takes you.

Q: Do you only plan backyard weddings?

A: While backyard and outdoor celebrations are our specialty, we also work with traditional venues that share that same intimate, personalized feel. Our focus is creating events that feel genuine, relaxed, and full of character — whether they’re under a tent in your own backyard or beneath chandeliers in a cozy venue.

Q: Will you be there on our wedding day?

A: Without question! Your coordinator will be on-site managing timelines, vendors, set-up, and breakdown — plus arriving with our stocked emergency kit so you can relax and fully enjoy the day.

Q: Do you pet the family dog at backyard weddings?

A: Absolutely — as long as they want to be pet! We love when pets are part of the celebration and can even help incorporate them into your ceremony or photos.

Q: How much do your services cost?

A: Packages start at $800 for Wildflower, $2,000 for Willow, and $5,000 for Evergreen, with flexible add-ons available. Pricing varies depending on guest count, event complexity, and any extras you choose to include.

Q: How do I know which package is right for me?

A: That’s what our Story Swap consultation is for! We’ll chat through your vision, budget, and planning style, then guide you toward the package that best fits your needs — whether you’re a DIY dreamer or want the “show up and celebrate” experience.

Q: Can I customize a package?

A: Absolutely. Weddings aren’t one-size-fits-all, and neither are we. We’ll tailor your package with add-ons like custom décor, rentals, or content creation so it feels perfectly yours.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?

A: All contracts, invoices, and payments are handled digitally for your convenience. We also accept cash and checks upon request.

Q: How many weddings do you take on at a time?

A: We keep our calendar intentionally limited so that each couple receives the attention and care they deserve. Your wedding won’t be “just another event” — it will be our focus.

Q: How far in advance should we book?

A: We recommend securing your date at least 8–12 months in advance — especially for peak wedding season (May through October). However, we occasionally take last-minute celebrations if availability allows, so it never hurts to ask!

Q: Do you work with outside vendors or only your preferred ones?

A: We’re happy to collaborate with any vendors you love! That said, we also have a curated list of trusted local pros we’ve personally worked with — from DJ’s to caterers — who understand the flow of a backyard wedding perfectly.

Q: What happens if it rains?

A: We’ve got you covered — literally. Every outdoor wedding we plan includes a personalized rain-contingency strategy, from tent layouts to backup timelines, so your day stays beautiful and stress-free no matter the weather.

Q: Can you help with design or décor ideas?

A: Absolutely! We love helping couples bring their vision to life. From color palettes and tablescapes to signage and ambiance, we’ll work together to design a day that feels cohesive, stylish, and uniquely yours.

Q: Will you dance with us?

A: If the music is good, you might just catch me sneaking a move or two once the big moments are handled! But don’t worry — my main priority is always making sure your day runs smoothly.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: Life happens. If you need to cancel, we ask for notice at least 60 days before your wedding for a partial refund. Cancellations within 60 days are non-refundable, since we’ve already reserved your date and invested time in planning.
